Let me help you reach your goals. I have over 40 years of experience in the fitness training business.
What is your background?I started boxing when I was 10 years old. I started karate when I was 12. I was a successful amateur boxer and received my blackbelt at the age of 16. At age 16 I taught self-defense for the Detroit Police Department. I later became a World Karate and Kickboxing Champion by winning numerous tournament and bouts. I have coached Blackbelts, professional boxers and have personally trained many and was certified by the NASM.
What makes you successful as a trainer?I feel that when you are trying to get yourself in shape you should look at particular sports and pay attention to their physiques. Runners are slender, boxers are trim, body builders are buff and Sumo wrestlers are huge. Which physiques do you want to achieve? I like the physiques of boxers so I created a program called 12 rounds. I incorporate heavy bags, speed bags, focus pads, track, weights, flexibility, jump rope and calisthenics. I also have my clients workout in 6 week increments.
Do you do group or individual training?I do both. I feel partnership training is beneficial and motivational.
Where do you train your clients?Various places that are convenient to my clients. I also have a private gym that I use.
How soon will I get results?Everyone is different. My job is to keep you motivated and goal oriented. I sit down with each of my clients and come up with a game plan to reach their goals. It's like when I start a training camp with a fighter. We set the goals and stick with the plan.
